The Colorado Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program (EMAP) is now accepting applications. Before proceeding, please be aware of the following:

EMAP provides financial assistance for income-eligible homeowners who have experienced financial hardship associated with the COVID-19 health crisis. Neighbor to Neighbor is a participating agency in this statewide program and is assisting with processing EMAP applications.

The program is only accepting new applicants at this time. For assistance with existing application questions and status updates, contact the CARE Center by phone or text at 720-356-0174, email at: [email protected], or by chat at https://cedproject.org Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

To qualify, homeowners must complete an application and demonstrate that they:

  • Have experienced a COVID-related impact on their finances on or after January 21, 2020. The hardship could include job loss; reduction in income; reduction in hours worked; increased costs due to healthcare; increased costs due to the need to care for family members; or other issues that have impacted the household’s income. 
  • Are owner-occupants of a single-family home or condominium, or a 2- 3- or 4-family home located in Colorado. This does not include owner-occupied properties of 5 or more units, investor-owned properties or vacation homes. 
  • Have an income equal to or less than 150% of Area Median Income for the county in which they reside currently(opens in new window), or at the time of COVID-related financial hardship.
  • Have a loan under the conforming loan limits (non-jumbo loan) at the time of origination or most recent refinance (loan limits vary by region).
