Five years ago, Becca was living in a 1-bedroom basement apartment with her 3-year-old son, Cedar. She was struggling to pay bills and financial stress was taking a toll on her mental health. Becca was making ends meet by nannying several children, which while rewarding, did not provide the financial stability she needed for her and Cedar. The call from Neighbor to Neighbor that a 2-bedroom apartment had become available and Becca could move in within the week, was the call that changed her journey. After moving in, Becca was able to take time to reflect and grow as a person, a professional, and a mom. She got to be present in Cedar’s childhood, and even began her own jewelry business. Becca was very active in the N2N community; she has participated in many community programs, traveled for conferences, and even found a space on the Board of Directors. Now, Cedar is a happy 2nd grade student at Polaris. On top of co-owning a jewelry business, Becca is also pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences at CSU in hopes of becoming a High School Teacher. She recently handed over the keys to her N2N apartment and is excited for the next family to thrive and grow there.

Megan was born and raised in Fort Collins. As an only child, she was immersed in a household of public service; her mother working for the school district and father working for the fire authority. She remembers spending summer days playing outside, riding bikes and water fights with neighborhood friends. More recently, Megan loves spending time with her family, camping and exploring the great outdoors. Megan and her husband both work for nonprofit housing agencies and are parents of three young kids, ages 3, 5 and 7. Like many households, they are navigating a new childcare and education environment for their family amid the chaos of the COVID pandemic. Megan’s passion for housing stability led her to work, volunteer and contribute to nonprofit organizations and municipalities that provide safe, stable, affordable housing throughout Colorado. Megan joined N2N’s Board of Directors in 2018 and also currently serves on N2N’s Governance and Asset Management Committees. She supports N2N’s mission and activities because a stable place to live is essential to improve quality of life, physical and mental health, education and future opportunities for growth.
