Housing Search Assistance helps individuals and families facing a housing crisis by providing resources, case management, and tools to attain affordable, sustainable housing within Larimer County.

This program provides all services free of charge, but it does not guarantee financial assistance to secure housing. If you are seeking emergency assistance, please visit I Need Help.

Getting Started

Please do not submit an application if you do not meet the eligibility criteria or are unable to provide the required documents within five business days of applying.

1. Do I Qualify?

Housing Search Assistance helps those facing a housing crisis. To be eligible, you must meet the following three requirements:

»1.  Minimum Income Requirement:

Your gross household income cannot be zero and must be adequate to sustain monthly rent payments, or you must possess a valid housing voucher. Keep in mind, most landlords in Larimer County will require household income to be 2 times the monthly rent, unless the renter has a housing voucher.

»2.  Maximum Income Requirement:

Your gross household income cannot exceed 30-60% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for your household size. Please verify your AMI before proceeding.

»3.  Current Housing Status

To be eligible for the Housing Search Assistance program, you must be one of the following: 

  • homeless;
  • at imminent risk of becoming homeless; or
  • presently living in unsafe housing conditions

2. Complete Online Application

If you or your client meet the program eligibility requirements above, you may begin the online Housing Search Application.

Please Be Aware:

To ensure each client receives the housing search support they need, N2N can only accept a limited number of Housing Search Applications. Once we reach capacity, the application will be temporarily closed.  

3. Email Documents

Please note: If documents are not received within 5 business days, the Housing Search Assistance application will be closed.

Email the following documents to [email protected]

  • ID
  • Proof of Income – Submit All That Apply:

  • Benefit award letters
  • Prior month pay stub
  • UI benefit statement
  • Child support statements
  • P&L + Bank Statement for prior month (for self-employed)
  • Employer letter with wage and hours worked
  • Income verification from other federal program (TANF, SNAP, Section 8, etc.)
  • Copy of your demand, court summons/eviction notice (this is a court document), or a letter from a case manager or other identifying information verifying your homeless status (if applicable)
