The past three years have been incredibly difficult. I had built a successful business from the ground up, and then the pandemic struck. I lost my business, and everything I had put into it. I lost years of my life; I lost all of our money. Not only that, but I also lost both parents one day apart due to Covid. To top it off, I was in a serious accident and in a wheelchair for the better part of a year. It was truly the worst time of our lives.
Our mortgage company told us about Neighbor to Neighbor and the Colorado Homeowner Assistance Fund. This was all new to me, as I had never needed assistance before and had no idea that we would be able to utilize this program. I am so glad that I did though, because it literally gave us a gift we could never imagine receiving before – and it gave us our lives back.
Since receiving help, we have gotten back on top of our bills and payments. We can breathe again; we can sleep again without worrying about what to do. This organization and the people within are a true blessing to Colorado. I will be forever grateful to this organization and one day, I hope to be able to pay it forward by helping others who find themselves stuck like we were. We are truly grateful and so very blessed.
